Corn Island is one of the tourist wonders of Nicaragua for its white sand beaches, turquoise water and warm climate. It is divided into two small islands; on the largest, Big Corn Island, we find extensive beaches where swimming, diving and snorkeling. It is the most important island and is where trade and transport is centered. Among its calm and crystalline beaches, Long Bay, Sally Peachie, North End, South West Bay and Blowing Rock stand out. In this last one we can enjoy a great marine wealth. The smallest island, Little Corn Island, is surrounded by an extensive coral reef. It is also a perfect destination for relaxation. There are no motor vehicles here, so the air is completely clean. 💡Curiosities According to history, on August 27, 1941, Queen Victoria ordered the reading of the act of abolition of slavery. The inhabitants of that time prepared crab soup to celebrate it, and today it is also cooked to commemorate that day every August 27th. On this day on Big Corn Island, various sports, recreational, festive and entertainment activities are held, in which tourists also participate.
