The Museum of Legends and Traditions is an eclectic, historical and cultural museum, located in the building of the old jail "La 21" in the city of Leon. Impressive is the contrast between the murals that graphically represent the methods used by the Somocista National Guard to torture prisoners and a peculiar collection of life-size papier-mâché figures of legends, myths and traditions of León. It houses an interesting collection of objects related to 14 myths and legends of Leon's mythology such as the Headless Father, the Nagua Cart, the Golden Punche, the Llorona, among others. 💡Curiosities The Museum of Myths and Legends is home to "Florentina", the 11 meter tall Gigantona and "Pepe", the 4.5 meter tall Enano Cabezón, both the largest of their kind in the world. The Gigantona and the Enano Cabezón is a traditional Leonese dance from colonial times; the Gigantona represents the Spanish woman, and the Enano Cabezón represents the indigenous man.
