Masaya Volcano National Park

Masaya Volcano National Park is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Pacific. There are two options for visits: daytime or nighttime. During the day there is a permanent exhibition that tells the history, structure and nature of the park, as well as other nearby volcanoes. There is also a visit to the Plaza de Oviedo, an impressive scenery located on the edge of the Santiago crater. In front of it rises a high hill from which the Bobadilla Cross can be seen. Depending on the volcanic activity, it is possible or not to visit other areas of the park. During the night, a wonderful spectacle begins, the "lake of incandescent lava", which can be seen from the edge of the crater. In addition, during the night, it offers a spectacle that amazes night visitors: the appreciation of the so-called "lake of incandescent lava" that is observed from the edge of the crater. 💡Curiosities The eruptions have had a dramatic impact on the surrounding area. Volcanic rocks still cover the surroundings. The nature is a bit rough, different types of vegetation appeared after the eruptions. The park is inhabited by various types of animals. For both day and night visits it is necessary to buy a ticket.
